Woodlawn sits on the west side of the Beltway around the I-70 and I-695 junction, where Security Boulevard and Windsor Mill Road carry a steady mix of delivery fleets, refuse vehicles, utility trucks and the tractor trailers using I-70 as the route west.
The vehicle mix here leans vocational. Refuse packers, dump bodies, utility and service bodies, and delivery box trucks all working short stop start cycles inside a fairly small area. That duty cycle is hard on brakes, hydraulics, charging systems and aftertreatment, and it produces very different failures from a highway tractor.
The I-70 park and ride at the end of the interstate is a common place for trucks to stop when something goes wrong, and it is a reasonable place to work from, which is not true of every location on that side of the Beltway.
Landmarks nearby: Security Square, Social Security Administration campus approach routes, I-70 park and ride, I-695 exit 17.

Learn moreYes, from the I-70 end across Security Boulevard and out along Windsor Mill Road. Tell us the nearest cross street or the Beltway exit and which side of it you are on.
Short stop start routes never get the exhaust hot enough for a passive regeneration, so soot builds faster than it burns off. Vocational units working this area need forced regens more often than highway trucks, and we can run those on site.
We work on the chassis, the engine, the brakes, the electrical and the air systems. Body specific hydraulics and packer mechanisms are often better handled by the body manufacturer, and we will tell you when that is the case.
Usually yes, and it is one of the better places on that side of the Beltway to bring a truck to a stop, because there is room to work without traffic passing close.
